Museum of Bresse - Domaine des Planons
With its buildings listed since 1938 and its planned modern extension, this museum is devoted to the ethnological heritage of Bresse, particularly the relationship between man and food.

Royal Monastery of Brou
Built in the 16th century by Marguerite of Austria, this Monastery is the result of her desire to glorify her love for her husband, Philibert le Beau. This outstanding cultural site includes a flamboyant Gothic-style church, a monastery with three cloisters on the upper floors and a museum of fine arts.

Village of Treffort
In Revermont, the first foothills of the Jura Mountains, lies a succession of remarkable stone-built villages. Treffort is the most beautiful example.
Perched on its rocky outcrop, it has been able to preserve its ancient streets and a delightful communal washhouse situated in the middle of the pastures.

Furniture of Bresse
The inhabitants of Bresse, gifted craftsmen, have always manufactured much sought after furniture. Made from walnut, cherry and burr ash, the sculpted wardrobes and dressers furnish the traditional farmhouses with great character.

Saracen Chimneys
The brick cowls which rise above the roofs of old farmhouses in Bresse are the visible part of a fireplace which is completely open on the inside. These, originally, very ancient minarets, have been called “Saracen chimneys” since the 19 th century.
